Inclusive Digital Laboratory for Experimental Art (IDLE) is an innovative, participatory project based at Piksel headquarters in Bergen. It allows audiences and artists to perform using custom audiovisual instruments through a Virtual Gallery, eliminating the need for physical presence. IDLE, as an inclusive digital platform, is a playground for art enthusiasts to create live performances, interact with others, and explore innovative gadgets. In the cyber salon, visitors use visual actuators to create live visual performances, while in the virtual street and left room, they collaborate to create music by adjusting sound effects through avatar positioning. The virtual instruments, designed for musical and visual exploration, are based on Hydra live coding and Strudel music live coding principles. Notable creations by artists like Flor de Fuego, Blaz Pavlica, Malitzin Cortés, and Iván Abreu integrate seamlessly with physical space projections and facilitate collaborative play, enriching the interactive auditory and visual experiences for all users.

IDLE is an environment created from scratch using free/libre technologies and software. It is host at the Piksel server in Bergen.

IDLE will be presented also at NOPE SOUND PERFORMANCES AND TALK.
